CAPITAL: MANAUS

  • Manaus is the largest city in Amazonas.
  • It is Located in the mouth of the Rio Negro and Rio Solimões. After this, the amazon river starts.

    •  Where the Amazon river and the Rio Negro come together is called "Encontro Das Aguas", the water doesn't mix immediately and you can see the different rivers coming together. This is due to the levels of acidity in each river, the Rio Negro has much greater acidity than the Amazons.

It also has 1/5 of all known bird species in the world. Unfortunately this beautiful ecosystem has bees suffering of a lot of deforestation, cause by big companies that have been using its natural resources and not being cautious of the damage they can cause.

NATIVES

Brazil is home to many tribes, in Amazonas there are two known tribes called Envira tribe and Alto-Envira tribe. There is little information about this tribes because they don't have much contact with the outside world. However, there have been drones and very vague documentaries about these tribes.
